2021.12.01 11:44 myjohnson673 Car battery died again
Hello, My car wouldn't start yesterday after I left a light on over the weekend. I got it jump started yesterday evening by a friend and I went for a 30ish minute drive of approximately 20 miles (partly within a city, partly on a motorway). I had the aircon and heating on. I stopped part way through and restarted the car again absolutely fine. No lights were left on overnight.
This morning I start my car and the battery is flat again! I thought a 20 mile drive would be sufficient to recharge the battery but not in this case.
Is this likely to be the sign of something more serious? I am going to charge the battery overnight tonight. Is there anything else I should do to limit the likelihood of this happening again?
Some info on the car. VW Polo 1.2 petrol from 2013. About 27,000 miles. Had it for one year, no previous issues relating to the battery or starting the car. Passed it's MOT last month no problems.

2021.12.01 11:44 lakers612 We have to accept that Karl is a savant, all the good and the bad that comes with that
Karl Anthony Towns might be the biggest enigma in the NBA. Maybe in all of sports. He is supremely skilled for the size he is. Zach Lowe has called him the greatest big man on the offensive end perhaps ever. Yet he hasn't been able to lead a team to the playoffs on his own. It might be an unfair fact, but the perception around the NBA is that it took Jimmy Butler to break the playoff drought here--the implication being that Karl is not a leader, nor good enough on his own to carry a team.
That seems to be the average POV for NBA fans around the league and quite frankly for a lot of Wolves fans. Then there's KAT's on-court antics, whether its throwing a literal temper tantrum because of the refs or thinking he is Ricky Rubio after converting a side-arm pass, so he must follow it up with three errant ones.
I created a post on here last week about our foul disparity and how we are essentially getting screwed by the refs. I attribute a lot of that to the way they call KAT, so I don't think KAT is necessarily coming from a bad place when he expresses frustration, but I've decided this morning it doesn't matter. I am done analyzing KAT's psychology. We have enough sample size to know who he is, even we are watching from afar.
I honestly don't know much about Karl's bio. I know he is from New Jersey. That's about it. I guess the other thing I know for sure about Karl is that he is insanely smart. When he first entered the league, he was more composed than most vets in post-game interviews. He speaks like a politician and it's pretty evident he has an intellect that is unique not just for a professional athlete but for you and me and everyone else on the planet.
I also know that to be the No. 1 draft pick in the NBA, you have had an unusual childhood. You didn't do things normal kids do. You focus on basketball the day your parents realize you have what it takes to go pro. For most kids, that is an insane amount of pressure to bear. And by all accounts, Karl's dad was heavily involved in his son's development, so training was more of a family affair than extra curriculars with kids his age. (His dad had KAT play with the Dominican Republic because he wanted KAT to get that professional exposure early rather than go through the US ranks with his peers.)
I grew up in Southern California and I know who KAT is because I grew up with people like him on the tennis circuit. If you want to get a sense of what that experience is like, watch Will Smith's King Richard that is out now. While that story is unique because it is set in Compton, the rigor those girls went through was not all that different from the intense training other tennis "prodigies" go through (using prodigy loosely, but to get a sense of the people I grew up with, one of the better players on my circuit was UCLA QB and now NFL journeyman Josh Rosen).
I bring all of this up because if you watch a pro tennis match, you will immediately recognize the behavior you see on the court: players talking to themselves, players yelling at umpires. It's what KAT does. And, yeah, sure, tennis is an individual sport so tennis players have the license to be in their own head. But I promise you they don't do that because they play an individual sport. They do that because they are striving for a level of excellence that is difficult to achieve without countless hours of repetition, and so when they step out onto the court, they become a different person, they become a machine and if there is something faulty with the machine, then all the other circuits start to break. On the outside, what we see is someone losing their composure. It's like presenting a mathematical genius an equation that is possible to solve. It would eat them inside and they lash out.
Karl is a savant. He is. I don't need to offer any proof on this. I can just point at him and you can tell. No one that size should be able to do the things he do. And here's the thing, and here's why KAT is different from most other NBA players: KAT had to work to get to where he is. He had to sacrifice his childhood to get to where he is. Shooting a three-point shot from NBA range is one of the most technical skills in all of sports, and Karl is literally one of the best ever at it. He didn't wake up one morning with that skill. It was drilled into him.
If KAT wasn't a savant, if he didn't come up in a system that pushed him to be the No. 1 pick in the draft, if he had a different childhood, he may still have had a professional basketball career, though he wouldn't have been a max-contract guy. He wouldn't be in the position he is to be the leader of a franchise. But that's the weird puzzle we found ourselves. KAT is a savant, all the good and the bad that comes with it. It's not going to change or fix itself anytime soon. We just have to accept that, and also remember that many of KAT's peers (Tatum, Doncic, Jokic, etc.) also lose it on the court with refs and so while KAT may be the biggest enigma in the league, he's not an outlier in that regard.

2021.12.01 11:44 Think-Bedroom8589 Idea about combo tokens
So my thoughts aren’t really mindblowing and i am sure a lot of people thought about this before me, but i still want to hear ppl’s suggestions about it.
So if you played a few runs in dd2 you for sure had a situation where there was a combo token on an enemy and you wanted to use eg. your noxious blast+ on the enemy, but his blight res was very low so it didn’t give you too much of a value and then later in the turn you would like to give the token to your blinded leper who would chop+ the enemy with a guaranteed hit.
Situations like these happen a lot in teamcomps with runaway which is imo a huge downside of the character bcs you sometimes wish you didn’t upgrade her searing strike or firefly. (with combo token these skills put 3 burn to a nearby enemy).
So you probably oversaw my idea until now. What if we could actually choose if we want to use combo token with this ability, and if we don’t then we actually could choose to use this ability like the combo token just wasn’t there and leave it here? I personally think it would bring much more tactical approach to the fight and it would mean there is less chance that speed totally wrecks your plan.
What do you think about this idea? Would it actually bring more thinking to the game or would it oversimplify it? I really want to hear other’s opinions and personally would love to have this idea implemented in the game.

2021.12.01 11:44 TheTallLebowski Is it a good idea to visit solo right now?
I booked my tickets a month ago for a trip to your beautiful country from Dec 2 to Dec 14. My itenarary is Land in Colombo - 1 day Kandy - 2 Ella - 3 Mirissa/Galle/south beaches - 7
But, given the recent Omicron scare, do you guys think it's a good idea for me to make this trip.
I was planning to take trains for internal travel, which I can switch to cabs for better safety. I'm funny vaccinated as well.
I'm travelling solo and I'm not sure how bad it would get if I catch the virus on the way.
Any suggestions, thoughts are welcome. My flight departs in 14 hours.
Thanks in advance.
